External Email Issues<\/em> when using non-Concepte high secure emails accounts and external email account i.e. Google, Yahoo, MSN<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It has come to our attention that some of you are trying to use an external email service other than the service that your company\u2019s or government agency\u2019s official e-mail account. Your agency has procured a high security email account to help ensure you can accomplish your official business in a secure manner.<\/p>\n

Due to the massive number of accounts hosted by certain external email
\nservices (i.e. Google, Yahoo, MSN) and the uncontrollable nature of
\ncontent produced by such a huge volume of users, they are considered
\nunacceptable as commercial email sources and are blacklisted by major
\nemail security services.\u00a0 These free email services have allowed and are
\nknown for being used to spam or attack servers in order to breach a mail
\nserver.<\/p>\n

This type of blacklisting is the standard that is prevalent throughout
\nthe email services industry and works well in almost all cases.\u00a0 It is
\ndue to this blacklisting that we encourage you to use your official
\nemail address for communications.\u00a0 Some ask if we can white-list the
\ndomain or an individual email address to allow this email to come
\nthrough.\u00a0 That action defeats the security email data protection and
\nwould open the server to possibility of data breach by means of forged
\nmessage appearing to come from a white-listed sender even though in fact
\nthey were not.<\/p>\n

It is Concepte of Illinois\u2019 policy to never white-list e-mail addresses\/domains due
\nto worldwide security concerns and to help protect the global reputation of our servers.<\/p>\n

If you are using G-mail or other free mail clients because they give you more storage, we can provide additional storage to you through our mail service as well at an additional cost.<\/p>\n

If after understanding the risks we have described above you still wish to use these outside services for communications we can offer for your consideration a private email server that will effect only your domain if it were to become\u00a0 compromised.\u00a0 This option will allow your the freedom to determine your own security policies and decide whether or not to allow white-listed senders.\u00a0 We can provide you with pricing for that option on request.<\/p>\n
